Dust extraction is only effective when the hood actually captures the dust plume. If hood placement and geometry are poor the dust escapes even with high fan power. A strong system starts with source capture and ends with stable filtration.
Keep hoods close to the generation point
Maintain capture velocity where the dust is released
Preserve transport velocity inside ducts
Account for pressure losses across fittings and filters
Oversized ducts that slow velocity and cause settling
Long duct runs with unnecessary elbows
Underestimated filter pressure drop over time
Saf Teknik projects focus on pressure realistic engineering and practical layouts so extraction remains strong months after commissioning.
